OFSS Bihar 11th Admission 2026 Overview

OFSS Bihar is the central online admission system used for Intermediate admission in Bihar. For the 2026-28 session, the Bihar School Examination Board has activated the Common Application Form for students seeking admission to Class 11.

The official prospectus confirms that online applications can be submitted from 8 April 2026 to 18 April 2026. Students do not get admission immediately after form submission. Instead, allotment is done through combined merit lists prepared on the basis of marks, reservation category and the order of choices filled in the application.

Who Can Apply

BSEB students and non-BSEB students can both apply, but the data-entry process is slightly different. BSEB candidates can use their exam details to fetch data, while students from other boards must fill more details manually.

Streams and Institutions Covered

The OFSS portal is used for admission to Intermediate courses in colleges and schools affiliated with and recognised by BSEB across all 38 districts of Bihar.

The official portal also states that Minority Institutions and Residential Institutions are outside this OFSS coverage. Stream and subject availability depends on the institution selected by the student in the option list.

Application Fee and Choice Filling Rules

The order of options matters. The system allots the highest possible option available to the student according to marks, reservation and priority order. The prospectus also advises students to review previous cut-off information on the OFSS portal before finalising choices.

Once the first merit list is published, changes in the filled options are not allowed.

Information and Documents Needed Before Applying

Students should keep the following details ready before opening the application form:

• Board name, year of passing and exam type
• Roll code, roll number and date of birth
• Applicant name, father name and mother name
• Passport-size photo in the allowed format
• Total marks and subject-wise marks, especially for non-BSEB applicants
• School details from which Class 10 was passed
• Unique mobile number and unique email ID
• Aadhaar number, or the required declaration if Aadhaar is not available
• Address details including district, block and PIN code
• Category certificate, EWS certificate or disability certificate if reservation is claimed

The official form also makes it clear that wrong reservation or identity details can lead to rejection or later cancellation of candidature.

How to Fill the OFSS Bihar CAF

1. Open the OFSS Bihar portal and read the common prospectus carefully.
2. Open the Common Application Form for Intermediate admission.
3. Enter your board, year of passing, exam type, roll details and date of birth.
4. If you passed from BSEB, the system may fetch academic details after verification. If you passed from another board, enter marks and other details manually.
5. Upload your photo and fill personal, address and reservation information.
6. Select at least 10 and up to 20 institution and stream options in the exact order of preference.
7. Verify the form carefully and submit the fee online.
8. Save or print the submitted application details for reference.

The prospectus states that students can apply from home, from a cyber cafe, or through a District Registration cum Counselling Centre if needed.

Merit List, Allotment and Slide-Up Process

After the application period closes, OFSS prepares a first combined merit list on the basis of the student's marks and the options filled in the application. Applicants are informed through their registered mobile number and email ID about allotment and admission instructions.

If seats remain vacant after the first round, the board issues a second combined merit list. If seats still remain, a third and final combined merit list is issued. After this, institutions may fill remaining seats only from students who have already completed online registration through OFSS.

The prospectus also provides a slide-up option. If a student takes admission on a lower preference and later gets a higher preferred option in the next merit list, the earlier admission stands cancelled automatically after the upgrade.

Reservation, Quotas and Weightage

The online form also includes fields for other applicable categories and weightage details such as NCC, Scout & Guide, Sports, Ex-Service Man, Children of Martyrs and Serving Defence Personnel.

The OFSS portal separately states that applicants seeking admission under Sports Quota, Donor Quota, Ward Quota or Fine Arts Quota must apply in the respective colleges in online mode in the college itself. For reservation claims, valid certificates issued by the competent authority are required at the time of admission.
