Recruitment overview

AIIMS Bhopal is inviting applications for engagement of Assistant Professors on contractual basis in multiple clinical and super-specialty departments. The appointment is not a regular faculty appointment. It is a contractual engagement for one year or until a regular appointment is made against the concerned vacancy, whichever is earlier. For general medical disciplines, candidates should have a recognized medical qualification included in the relevant schedules of the Indian Medical Council framework and a postgraduate qualification such as MD or MS, or an equivalent recognized qualification, in the concerned discipline. They should also have three years of teaching and/or research experience in a recognized institution in the specialty after obtaining the qualifying degree.

For super-specialty disciplines, candidates should have the general medical qualification base and a DM in the relevant medical super-specialty or an M.Ch in the relevant surgical super-specialty, or an equivalent recognized qualification. Candidates with 2-year or 5-year DM/M.Ch courses generally need one year of teaching and/or research experience after the qualifying degree, while candidates with a recognized 3-year DM/M.Ch degree do not ordinarily need separate post-degree experience.

Applicants should match the exact discipline requirement against the department they are applying for and avoid assuming interchangeability between related specializations unless the official advertisement expressly permits it.

Age limit and reservation rules

The upper age limit is 50 years as on the date of interview. Age relaxation is available to eligible reserved category candidates as per Government of India rules and orders.

Reserved category applicants should use the correct central government certificate format. OBC candidates should belong to the Non-Creamy Layer and use a valid certificate for the relevant financial year. EWS candidates should also use the prescribed current certificate. PwBD candidates claiming reservation should have the prescribed benchmark disability certificate from the competent authority. If the documentary format is wrong or outdated, the reserved claim may not be accepted.

Salary, tenure and service conditions

The consolidated monthly remuneration for Assistant Professor on contractual basis is Rs. 1,42,506. The engagement is purely contractual for one year or until regular appointment against the vacancy, whichever is earlier.

This engagement does not carry the benefits available to regular government faculty positions, such as seniority, promotion, pension, gratuity or regular service-linked benefits. Hostel accommodation may be provided subject to availability and institute rules. The institute also reserves the right to terminate the engagement in terms of the contractual conditions mentioned in the advertisement.

Application fee and payment mode

The fee is to be paid through demand draft in favour of "Executive Director, AIIMS, Bhopal". The fee is not refundable. Candidates who are exempted should still read the advertisement carefully and ensure that their category claim is backed by valid documents.
