HPRCA Teachers Recruitment 2026 overview

HPRCA has invited online applications for 808 teacher posts through Advertisement No. 08/2026. The recruitment is for scheme-based direct recruitment or engagement of teachers in CBSE-affiliated Government schools under the Department of School Education, Government of Himachal Pradesh.

The online application form is scheduled to be available from 17 April 2026 at 10:00 AM to 8 May 2026 at 11:59 PM. The notice also states that no offline application form will be accepted. A correction window of four days is to be opened after the closing date, subject to payment of the prescribed correction fee.

Who can apply

Applicants must meet the essential qualification for the concerned post on the closing date of the online application. Post-wise qualification summary

The advertisement allows up to 5% relaxation in minimum educational qualifications for candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC, and PwD categories of Himachal Pradesh. For Physical Education Teacher (Elementary), an additional 5% relaxation in marks is mentioned for candidates who have participated in International, National, SGFI, or certain inter-zonal sports competitions.

Age limit, reservation and Himachal Pradesh certificate rules

Selection process and exam pattern

The mode of selection mentioned in the advertisement is a Computer Based Test or written screening test of 120 marks with a duration of one and a half hours. The objective test consists of 120 multiple-choice questions, with each question carrying 1 mark.

Application fee, correction fee and answer key objections

The fee table in the advertisement shows a total fee of Rs. 800 for all categories, made up of Rs. 100 as examination fee and Rs. 700 as processing fee. The fee has to be paid online through the payment gateway. The notice does not allow any other mode of payment.

The correction fee is Rs. 100 during the correction window that opens after the close of applications. The advertisement also states that the provisional answer key of the CBT will be uploaded on the official website and seven days' time will be given for objections, if any. A non-refundable fee of Rs. 200 is to be charged for each challenge to the answer key.

How to apply online

1. Register on the HPRCA portal by using the sign-up option.
2. Complete the One-Time Registration with personal, educational, and other required details.
3. Upload photograph, signature, and supporting documents in the prescribed format.
4. Update the profile fully before applying for a post.
5. Select the relevant teacher post and choose the preferred exam district from the available options.
6. Review the auto-filled application details carefully.
7. Pay the application fee through the online gateway.
8. Submit the form and keep a copy for future use.

The notice permits only one application form against each post. Multiple forms for the same post submitted by the same candidate are liable to be rejected. Applications sent by fax or post are not entertained.

Admit card, documents and documentation stage

No admit card will be sent by post. Provisionally admitted candidates will have to download their admit card from the HPRCA website. The notice says candidates may be able to download it using application ID, name, and date of birth, with OTP sent to the registered mobile number or email where applicable.

At the documentation stage, candidates have to produce the printed online application form along with original certificates and self-attested photocopies. The checklist in the advertisement includes Matric certificate for age proof, degree or diploma certificates with mark sheets, category certificates where applicable, BPL certificate if applicable, and experience certificates wherever required. Pay, tenure and job nature

All seven categories under this advertisement carry a fixed honorarium or remuneration of Rs. 30,000 per month, payable for 10 months in an academic year. The recruitment is governed by the Scheme for the Engagement of Teachers in Government Schools Affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education on Fixed Honorarium or Consolidated Amount, notified by the Government of Himachal Pradesh on 1 April 2026.

The advertisement clearly states that these engagements are purely scheme-based and temporary for a period of five years. They are not against sanctioned regular posts, there is no right of regularization against vacant sanctioned posts of the Education Department, and engaged teachers will not be deemed Government employees under regular service rules.
