Eligibility and qualification routes

Candidates can apply through any one of the officially accepted qualification routes for Operator (Chemical) Trainee.

1. Full-time regular B.Sc. Chemistry degree from a recognized university or institution, with Physics as one of the subjects during any of the three years of B.Sc., along with NCVT Attendant Operator (Chemical Plant) trade completed after the B.Sc. degree.
2. Full-time regular three-year Diploma in Chemical Engineering or Technology from a recognized university or institution, plus successful completion of one year BOAT training under the Apprentices Act after the diploma.
3. Sandwich-pattern Diploma in Chemical Engineering or Technology of four years, eight semesters, or three and a half years, seven semesters, from a recognized university or institution, including the required industrial training pattern mentioned in the advertisement.

For all routes, the minimum marks required are 55 percent in the last year or average aggregate of the last two semesters, with 50 percent for SC and ST candidates.

Age limit, cut-off date, and who should apply carefully

The cut-off date for age and qualification eligibility is 01 February 2026. Only the date of issue mentioned in the passing certificate will be considered for qualification completion.

An additional concession of five years is available for Ex-Servicemen and children or family members of victims of the 1984 riots. The advertisement also states that candidates in the final year of graduation or post-graduation are not eligible to apply for this post.

Nature of job, training period, salary, and posting

Selection process

RCFL will shortlist candidates category-wise in the ratio of 1:7 based on online test performance. Candidates with nil marks or negative marks in the online test will not be considered for document scrutiny or skill test.

Online test pattern and exam centres

The online test will be computer based and objective in nature. The exact date will be communicated through the admit card.

The call letter will have the venue details. Candidates reporting late after the reporting time mentioned on the call letter will not be allowed to take the examination.

Skill test and final merit

The skill test is qualifying in nature and is conducted after the online test for eligible shortlisted candidates. It does not carry weight in final merit ranking beyond qualifying status.

Final merit will be prepared on the basis of online test marks only. If two or more candidates secure the same marks, preference will be decided by higher SSC percentage, then older date of birth, and then earlier application number.

Applications are accepted only through the online mode. Physical applications will not be accepted.

3. Complete new registration and note the provisional registration number and password.
4. Fill the application carefully and verify all details before final submission.

6. Pay the fee online if it applies to your category.
7. Submit the form and keep a printout of the system-generated application.

Documents, reservation certificates, and other important instructions

At the application stage, candidates must upload the required documents in PDF format along with photograph, signature, left thumb impression, and handwritten declaration. If the required documents are not uploaded, the candidature will not be processed for later stages.

• OBC (NCL) candidates must use the Central Government format and the certificate should be issued on or after 01 April 2025.
• EWS candidates must submit Income and Asset Certificate issued on or after 01 April 2025.
• Reserved category certificates issued in languages other than English, Hindi, or Marathi should be supported by a self-certified translation in English or Hindi.
• Candidates working in Central or State Government, PSU, quasi-government, or autonomous bodies must produce a No Objection Certificate at the time of skill test.
• Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply.
• Knowledge of local language is desirable.
