Who can apply through TS DOST 2026

Candidates who have passed the Intermediate Examination of the Telangana Board of Intermediate Education or any equivalent recognized examination from other boards or states are eligible to apply through DOST. In practical terms, this means students with Intermediate or equivalent 12th qualification can use the platform for eligible undergraduate admissions.

The portal covers admissions into undergraduate courses and also D-Pharmacy in polytechnics affiliated to SBTET, Telangana. Students from Telangana and from recognized equivalent boards should carefully choose the correct qualifying board while generating the DOST ID.

How Phase 1 registration works

Registration fee and phase-wise payment details

The one-time registration fee in Phase 1 is Rs. 200. Students should pay this online through the approved payment modes available on the portal and preserve their DOST ID and PIN throughout the process.

After allotment, self-reporting fee rules differ depending on the college type and fee reimbursement eligibility. Students allotted to Government or University colleges and eligible for ePass fee reimbursement are exempt from online self-reporting fee. Students allotted to private colleges and eligible for ePass reimbursement must pay Rs. 500, while students not eligible for ePass reimbursement must pay Rs. 1000 for online self-reporting.

Universities and courses covered under DOST

DOST provides a single online window for admissions into undergraduate programmes offered by participating Telangana state universities and affiliated colleges. The platform covers courses such as B.A., B.Com., B.Sc., BBA, BCA, BBM, BSW and related undergraduate programmes, along with D-Pharmacy through SBTET affiliated institutions.

The participating systems mentioned in the official notification include Osmania University, Kakatiya University, Telangana University, Mahatma Gandhi University, Palamuru University, Satavahana University, Veeranari Chakali Ilamma Women's University, Dr. Manmohan Singh Earth Sciences University, JNTU and TS-SBTET.

Students should still search for the exact college and course combination on the DOST portal before locking their web options.

Certificate verification and documents students should keep ready

Special category candidates should not miss the verification schedule because certificate verification is tied to the allotment process. For Phase 1, PH and CAP verification is scheduled on 07 May 2026, while NCC, Sports and Extra-Curricular Activities verification is scheduled on 08 May 2026 at University Help Line Centers.

Students should keep their basic details and supporting documents ready, including Intermediate or equivalent qualifying details, Aadhaar related details for authentication, and category or reservation documents where applicable. The notification also mentions the use of MeeSeva Caste or EWS certificate number, an income certificate issued on or after 01 April 2025 for DOST 2026-27, and special category certificates such as NCC, Physically Challenged, CAP or Extra-Curricular Activities documents where relevant.

Seat allotment, self-reporting and final college reporting

Registering on DOST is only the first step. After web options are exercised, seats are allotted based on merit, reservation policy and the order of preferences entered by the student. A student who is satisfied with the allotted seat must complete online self-reporting within the notified dates for that phase.

For the 2026 schedule, students who confirm seats online in Phase 1, Phase 2 or Phase 3 must report to the allotted college between 20 June 2026 and 27 June 2026 to submit certificates and pay the course fee. If this step is missed, the seat may be cancelled even after online confirmation.
