APPSC Medical Specialist Recruitment 2026 Overview

The APPSC notification invites online applications from citizens of India for specialist posts under the Arunachal Pradesh Health & Family Welfare Department. The recruitment is for specialist cadres and the posts are to be filled through direct recruitment by interview.

Vacancy Breakup for Junior Specialist and Junior Dental Specialist Posts

The notification gives discipline-wise vacancies for both notified posts. Out of 117 total vacancies, 115 are for Junior Specialist (Allopathy) and 2 are for Junior Dental Specialist. The overall category-wise breakup is 23 unreserved, 90 reserved for APST candidates, and 4 reserved for APST PwBD candidates.

Eligibility Criteria

The recruitment is open to citizens of India who meet the post-specific academic and council registration requirements.

For Junior Specialist (Allopathy), the candidate must have a recognized medical qualification included in the First or Part-II of the Third Schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956, other than licentiate qualification. In addition, the candidate must hold a postgraduate degree in the concerned specialty mentioned in Schedule VI of the Arunachal Pradesh Health Service Rules, 2000, or an equivalent qualification. The candidate must also be registered with the Arunachal Pradesh Medical Council.

For Junior Dental Specialist, the candidate must hold a dental qualification included in Part-I or Part-III of the Schedule to the Dentist Act, 1948, along with a postgraduate degree in the concerned specialty as prescribed in Schedule VI or equivalent of the Arunachal Pradesh Health Service Rules, 2000. The candidate must be registered with the Arunachal Pradesh Dental Council.

The notification also states that the Government of Arunachal Pradesh has granted a one-time relaxation of the experience condition under the relevant Health Service Rules. As notified, the requirement of 3 years' experience after postgraduate degree and 5 years' experience after postgraduate diploma in the concerned specialty has been waived for this recruitment cycle.

Age Limit and Relaxation

The candidate must not exceed 50 years of age as on the last date of submission of the online application form, which is 18 May 2026.

• Upper age limit: 50 years
• Cut-off date: 18 May 2026
• Government servants: Relaxable by 5 years
• PwBD and regular Government servant concessions: As per Government rules and regulations in force

The age condition is linked to the one-time relaxation order referenced in the notification.

Application Fee

The application fee has been fixed category-wise. Payment is to be made online through the APPSC application system.

The notification specifically states that PwBD candidates are exempt from payment of application fee under the Arunachal Pradesh Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2018.

Selection Process

The selection will be made through viva-voce or interview only. The notification does not prescribe a written examination for this recruitment.

• Total interview marks: 100
• Minimum qualifying marks in interview: 50% of total marks
• PwBD relaxation: As applicable under Government notification

Only those candidates who are found eligible on the basis of their application details and supporting documents will be considered for the interview stage. The date of interview will be announced later by APPSC.

Documents Required with the Online Application

The advertisement lists the documents and files that must be uploaded with the online form. Candidates should keep scanned copies ready in the prescribed manner before starting the application.

• Recent passport size colour photograph with white background
• Matriculation certificate or marksheet showing date of birth
• APST certificate, if claiming APST reservation
• Aadhaar card, PRC or EPIC as identity proof for non-APST applicants
• Self-attested bachelor degree certificates and marksheets
• Self-attested master degree certificates and marksheets
• Experience certificate in the concerned specialty, if any
• PwD or PwBD disability certificate, if applicable
• Arunachal Pradesh Medical Council registration certificate or Arunachal Pradesh Dental Council registration certificate
• Copy of intimation to Head of Department or NOC for candidates already in Government service

The notification also makes it clear that original certificates and marksheets will have to be produced at the time of interview.

How to Apply Online

Candidates must apply online through the APPSC website. One Time Registration is mandatory before filling the application form.

1. Visit the APPSC website and complete One Time Registration if you are a new user.
2. Log in using the registered user ID and password.
3. Open the Medical Specialist Recruitment-2026 application form.
4. Fill in personal, academic, specialty and category details carefully.
5. Upload photograph, signature and all required certificates.
6. Upload NOC or department intimation if you are already in Government service.
7. Pay the application fee online, if applicable.
8. Review the form carefully and submit it before 5:00 PM on 18 May 2026.

The notification advises candidates to submit only one application. If multiple applications are submitted due to unavoidable reasons, the application with the highest Registration ID will be accepted, and fee paid for one Registration ID will not be adjusted against another.

Pay Scale and Other Important Instructions

Both Junior Specialist and Junior Dental Specialist posts carry Pay Matrix Level-11 with a pay scale of ₹67,700 to ₹2,08,700, as admissible under the rules.

• Shortlisting for interview will be based on the information submitted in the online application.
• Candidature remains provisional at every stage.
• Mere issuance of admit card or appearance in the selection process does not create a right to appointment.
• If a candidate is found ineligible during document verification before interview, the candidature will be rejected.
• The appointing authority will conduct medical test and verify character, antecedents and authenticity of documents before final appointment.
• Final recommendation by APPSC does not by itself guarantee appointment unless the appointing authority is satisfied.

Candidates should also note that once the form is submitted within the last date, no additional time will be given to change details or upload missing information.
