Calcutta High Court Software Developers Recruitment 2026: Offline Form, Fee, Last Date

Recruitment overview

The High Court at Calcutta has issued Advertisement No. 1970-RG dated 16 April 2026 for engagement of two Software Developers on a purely contractual basis. The engagement is initially for six months on the Appellate Side Establishment of the High Court at Calcutta.

This is not an online recruitment drive. Applications have to be prepared offline and sent in the required format within the deadline. Because the number of posts is small, candidates should pay close attention to eligibility, document attachment, fee payment, and the submission address.

So even though prior experience is mentioned as a preference and not as a mandatory eligibility condition, candidates with hands-on development exposure are likely to be better placed for the interview stage.

Age limit

The age requirement for the Software Developer post is:

• Minimum age: 18 years
• Maximum age: 40 years
• Age to be calculated as on 01 January 2026

Application fee and payment mode

How to apply offline

1. Prepare the application on plain paper of legal size (8.5 x 14 inches). The application may be neatly hand-written or typed.
2. Address it to the Registrar General, High Court at Calcutta.
3. Mention the post applied for, full name, father’s or husband’s name, date of birth, address, contact details, educational qualifications, category, employment status, nationality, experience details, and Indian Postal Order details.
4. Attach the required documents and photographs.
5. Put the application in a closed envelope and write the post name on the left top corner.
6. Send it by post or submit it by hand on working days so that it reaches the Court by 4:45 PM on or before 20 May 2026.

Because this is an offline recruitment, delays in postal delivery can directly affect eligibility. It is safer to complete the process well before the closing date.

Submission address

The official notice directs candidates to submit the application to the following address:

The application may be sent by post or submitted by hand on working days. Make sure the envelope clearly mentions the post applied for on the left top corner.

Documents to attach with the form

The notice requires candidates to attach supporting documents along with the application. The key items mentioned in the notice include:

• Two recent identical passport-size colour photographs signed by the candidate on the front portion
• One self-addressed envelope of size 25 cm x 11 cm with postal stamp of Rs. 60 affixed
• Self-attested proof of date of birth such as Madhyamik or equivalent certificate or admit card
• Self-attested copies of educational qualification documents

Selection process

The official notice states that the selection process shall consist of Viva-voce or Interview carrying 50 marks.
