Applicants claiming age relaxation or reservation have to upload valid supporting certificates in the prescribed form. OBC (NCL) and EWS certificates are required in the current validity period as specified in the notification.

Selection Process

The selection process includes a computer-based multiple choice objective test, followed by document verification for candidates placed in the declared merit list. Selected candidates will also have to pass BSNL's medical examination before appointment.

The notification states that if the examination is held in multiple sessions, normalization of marks will be adopted. The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of total marks obtained in Part-I and Part-II, subject to the candidate securing the prescribed minimum qualifying marks.

BSNL has also made it clear that furnishing false or misleading information, or failing to satisfy eligibility conditions at any stage, can lead to cancellation of candidature.

For every correct answer, 1 mark will be awarded. For every wrong answer, 0.25 mark will be deducted.

General category candidates must secure at least 40% marks in each part and 50% overall. For SC, ST, OBC, PwBD and EWS candidates, the minimum qualifying marks are 35% in each part and 45% overall.

The common aptitude section covers quantitative ability, data sufficiency, reasoning, verbal ability, reading comprehension and analysis. The core paper is stream-specific, with Telecom and Finance syllabi defined separately in the notification.

Exam Centres, Admit Card, Pay Scale and Service Bond

The CBT is to be conducted in 27 examination cities or centres, including Vijayawada, Guwahati, Patna, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Shimla, Jammu, Ranchi, Bangalore, Thiruvananthapuram, Kolkata, Bhopal, Mumbai, New Delhi, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Meerut and Dehradun. The candidate can choose only one examination centre.

Admit cards will be made available through the same recruitment portal and will not be sent separately by post or email. After the online exam, BSNL may publish a provisional answer key or question paper response window. The challenge fee is Rs. 500 per question or per answer key grievance, payable online, and this amount is non-refundable.

The post carries the IDA E-3 pay scale of Rs. 24,900 to Rs. 50,500. Selected candidates must execute a bond of Rs. 9 lakh to serve BSNL for at least five years from the date of appointment. The probation period is two years and runs along with a 52-week training schedule that includes managerial training, stream training and on-the-job training.
