CAU Teaching Faculty Recruitment 2026 Overview

Central Agricultural University, Imphal has invited online applications for teaching faculty posts under Advertisement No. 02/2026. The recruitment covers 22 vacancies for Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor in various Veterinary Science disciplines.

Age Limit and Relaxation

The age rules differ by post level.

• For Assistant Professor, the maximum age limit is 40 years as on the last date of submission of application form.
• Age relaxation for Assistant Professor is as per Government of India norms: 3 years for OBC, 5 years for SC and ST, and 10 years for PwBD, wherever applicable.
• The preferred age limit is below 50 years for Associate Professor.
• The preferred age limit is below 55 years for Professor.
• Teaching staff working on contractual posts at Central Agricultural University, Imphal may get one-time upper age relaxation up to a maximum of 5 years, subject to the conditions mentioned in the notice.
• The age of superannuation for teachers in CAU is 65 years.

How to Apply Online

The application has to be submitted online only through the university recruitment process mentioned on the official website.

5. Upload supporting documents in the required format.

Documents and Submission Rules

Candidates should ensure that all details entered in the application are supported by proper documentary proof.

• Documents related to all information provided in the application form must be produced at the time of interview.
• In-service candidates should apply through proper channel. An advance copy may be submitted with the required fee, but a No Objection Certificate must be produced at the time of interview.
• Applicants with foreign PhD degrees must enclose an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi, unless covered by the exemption stated in the notice.
• Qualifications and experience will be counted up to the last date for submission of applications.
• Any additional qualification or experience acquired after the closing date will not be counted for screening or selection.

Selection Process

The university has stated that only shortlisted candidates based on academic and career performance will be called for the next stage.

• Shortlisting will be done on the basis of academic and career performance.
• Interview call letters will be sent by email only to shortlisted candidates.
• The process of selection may include presentation, seminar, interview or a combination of these.
• Original documents must be produced at the time of appearing in the interview.
• The university may fix screening criteria to reduce the number of candidates to be called for interview.

Mere submission of application does not guarantee interview or selection.

Pay Level and Other Important Instructions

• Applications that are incomplete, not in the prescribed form, received after the due date or submitted without the prescribed fee where applicable will not be considered.
• The university reserves the right not to fill any post, to vary the number of posts, or to withdraw the advertisement fully or partially.
• 4% of the posts are reserved for physically challenged candidates as per rules.
• University employees are covered under the National Pension Scheme.
• The selected candidate may be posted in any college under the control of the university.
• The jurisdiction for recruitment-related disputes is confined to the Court of Manipur.

The notification also states that candidates who already applied against Advertisement Nos. 2/2025 and 4/2025 need not apply again, but they may update or submit additional supporting documents through the portal.
