APMSRB Recruitment 2026 is for 59 state-wide faculty vacancies under the AYUSH Department in Andhra Pradesh. The Andhra Pradesh Medical Services Recruitment Board has called for online applications for Professor (UG) and Associate Professor posts in Ayurveda and Homoeopathy. The recruitment is being made on contract basis against regular sanctioned posts for one year or until regular appointment is made, whichever is earlier.

The first thing most applicants need to know is whether they are eligible and whether the form is already live. The online application window opens on 11 April 2026 and closes on 26 April 2026 at 11:59 PM. To apply, you must use the APMSRB portal only. Offline applications are not accepted.

This recruitment is especially relevant for postgraduate AYUSH faculty candidates who already have the prescribed teaching experience and permanent practitioner registration. The selection is merit-based and does not include an interview. Academic marks, service after postgraduate qualification, and eligible contract service weightage together decide the final merit position.

Eligibility criteria and required qualification

The minimum educational requirement across these posts is a relevant postgraduate degree in the concerned subject or specialty after regular study of not less than three years. In addition, candidates must have the prescribed teaching experience and must be permanent registered medical practitioners in the concerned field.

  • Professor (UG) - Ayurveda: Relevant postgraduate degree in the concerned Ayurveda subject, 8 years teaching experience, and permanent registration in the concerned field.
  • Professor (UG) - Homoeopathy: Relevant postgraduate degree in the concerned Homoeopathy subject, 8 years teaching experience, and permanent registration in the concerned field.
  • Associate Professor - Ayurveda: Relevant postgraduate degree in Ayurveda, 3 years teaching experience, and permanent registration in the concerned field.
  • Associate Professor - Homoeopathy: Relevant postgraduate degree in Homoeopathy, 3 years teaching experience, and permanent registration in the concerned field.

One important point from the notification is that there are no allied subjects in Ayurveda, so only candidates with postgraduate qualification in the exact concerned Ayurveda subject are eligible there. For Homoeopathy, the notification separately lists certain allied subject combinations for selected departments.

Age limit and service conditions

The maximum age is 60 years as on 01 July 2025. Candidates should calculate age with this exact cut-off date rather than the application closing date.

These posts are not regular permanent appointments through this notification. The recruitment is on contract basis against regular sanctioned posts for one year or until regular appointment is made earlier. Applicants should keep this contract nature in mind before applying.

Application fee and payment mode

APMSRB has prescribed category-wise application fees for this recruitment.

CategoryFee

SC / ST / BC / EWS / Differently Abled / Ex-ServicemenRs. 1000

The fee has to be paid online through the payment gateway available in the application flow. APMSRB mentions modes such as net banking, credit card, debit card, and mobile wallet. After payment details are submitted, candidates should not press back or refresh, because that may lead to payment issues or duplicate charge attempts.

Selection process and merit calculation

The selection is based on a 100-point merit system and there is no interview. This means the application and document record matter a lot, especially academic marks and service proof.

  • Up to 75 points for percentage of marks in the qualifying postgraduate examination.
  • Up to 10 points for completed service after postgraduate qualification along with the requisite eligibility.
  • Up to 15 points for eligible contract service weightage.

For contract service weightage, the notification gives different rates for COVID-19 duty, tribal area, rural area, and urban area service. No weightage is given for service periods below six months, and separate short spells cannot be clubbed. If two applicants secure the same marks, the older candidate gets the higher rank.

Reservation and local candidature rules

The rule of reservation is applicable as issued by the Andhra Pradesh state government from time to time. Certificates issued by competent authorities of the Government of Andhra Pradesh are the ones considered for reservation claims in this recruitment.

Applicants belonging to states other than Andhra Pradesh are not entitled to reservation benefits under this notification. For local category benefit, the notification says candidates local to Andhra Pradesh are eligible for posts reserved for local category, subject to the prescribed study or residence criteria. Candidates who studied in educational institutions up to SSC are expected to produce study certificates, and residence certificate alone is not accepted in such cases.

Important instructions before submitting the form

There are a few practical points that can save applicants from rejection. First, incomplete or incorrect applications are liable to be rejected, and APMSRB makes it clear that later corrections may not be entertained. Second, if the board finds false, tampered, fabricated, or suppressed information, legal action may follow.

The notification also says equivalent qualification claims can be examined by an expert committee constituted by APMSRB.
