PSPCL JE Recruitment 2026 Overview

PSPCL has invited online applications for 622 posts of Junior Engineer/Electrical under Advertisement No. CRA 316/26. The corporation has published the detailed recruitment notice on its official website and has laid down the full process for registration, fee payment, exam, merit, and document checking.

Important Dates

The official advertisement has fixed separate dates for starting registration, closing applications, and depositing the fee. Candidates should complete both the form submission and fee payment within the notified schedule.

PSPCL has advised candidates not to wait until the last day because applications without successful fee payment will be rejected.

Vacancy Breakdown

The advertisement gives a tentative category-wise breakup of all 622 Junior Engineer/Electrical posts. Out of the total vacancies, 209 are shown as reserved for women within the respective categories.

The notification also states that category and sub-category once filled in the online application cannot be changed later.

Educational Qualification and Punjabi Requirement

PSPCL has prescribed technical qualification alternatives for the post of Junior Engineer/Electrical. Candidates must have passed the required qualification by the last date of online registration.

In addition, candidates must have passed Punjabi of at least Matriculation or equivalent level by the last date of submission of online application.

Candidates whose result is awaited may apply, but they must acquire and prove the required qualification by the last date of application. If they fail to do so, they will not be considered even if they qualify the online test.

Age Limit and Relaxations

The age limit for PSPCL JE Recruitment 2026 is 18 to 37 years as on 1 January 2026. Upper age relaxation is available under Punjab Government and PSPCL rules for specified categories.

Age relaxation applies only where the candidate also meets all other eligibility conditions.

Pay Scale, Probation and Service Conditions

The advertisement states that the pay scale will be applicable as per PSPCL financial circular and the minimum basic pay admissible under the 7th CPC pay matrix is Rs. 35,400 per month.

The notification further says that during probation or extended probation, newly appointed candidates will be paid minimum admissible pay only, without grade pay, dearness allowance, annual increment, or other allowances except travelling allowance and medical reimbursement as applicable. The probation period for these posts is 3 years or as per Punjab Government instructions in force at the time.

Application Fee

The application fee is non-refundable and has to be paid online only. PSPCL has separately listed the fee for general category candidates and for Scheduled Caste and Persons with Disability candidates.

Fee will be accepted by online mode only. An application is treated as complete only when the fee shows as paid in the online application form.

How to Apply Online

PSPCL has described the online process in three broad stages: registration, fee payment, and printing the application form. No manual or paper application will be accepted.

1. Visit the PSPCL website and open the Recruitment tab.
2. Click on the link for recruitment of Junior Engineer/Electrical against CRA 316/26.
3. Select new registration if applying for the first time, or registered candidate if already registered.
4. Enter the required details such as post applied, name, date of birth, father's name, mobile number, and email ID.
5. Verify the OTP received on the registered mobile number and email.
6. Fill the complete application form and upload photograph and signature in the prescribed format.
7. Submit the form after previewing the details.
8. Pay the fee online through the payment gateway using internet banking, debit card, or credit card.
9. Log in again after successful payment and print the final application form for future reference.

Candidates are not required to send a hard copy of the application form or certificates separately to PSPCL.

Selection Process and Exam Pattern

The recruitment process includes an online objective test, preparation of merit, and document checking of shortlisted candidates. The merit list will be based on marks scored in the online test, after normalization if the examination is held in multiple shifts.

• Total questions: 100
• Marking: 1 mark for each correct answer
• Negative marking: 0.25 mark for each wrong answer
• Duration: 2 hours
• Minimum qualifying marks: 45% for General category and 35% for reserved categories

If two or more candidates secure the same marks in the computer-based test, higher age will decide relative merit. For Sports Person category candidates, final merit is prepared through the competent sports authority under the applicable sports gradation rules.

Admit Card, Answer Key, Document Checking and Important Instructions

PSPCL has said that online test details, admit card updates, and later-stage notices will be published on the official website and communicated through the registered email ID. Candidates should keep their email and mobile number active throughout the recruitment process.

• Admit cards without test centre details may be uploaded 1 to 2 weeks before the exam.
• Final admit card with test centre details may be made available at least 3 days before the exam.
• After the test, PSPCL will publish the question paper-cum-answer key and invite objections as per notice.
• Final merit will be prepared after review of objections and normalization, if applicable.
• Shortlisted candidates will be called for document checking through registered email ID and the PSPCL website.
• Candidates must produce original documents and submit one self-attested photocopy set at document checking.
• No TA or DA will be paid for online test, document checking, or counseling.
