PSPCL JE Recruitment 2026 Overview

PSPCL is recruiting for 622 posts of Junior Engineer/Electrical through Advertisement No. CRA 316/26. The recruitment is for technical candidates who meet the prescribed Electrical engineering qualification and Punjabi language requirement.

The application process is fully online. PSPCL has also made it clear that the application is treated as complete only after the required fee is deposited. Candidates should not wait until the closing date because fee delay or last-minute technical issues can lead to rejection.

Another practical point is that the vacancy position is tentative. PSPCL has reserved the right to increase or decrease the number of posts or cancel the recruitment partly or fully at any stage.

Candidates should finish both form submission and fee payment within the official timeline. An application without successful fee payment is not treated as complete.

Vacancy Breakdown for 622 Posts

PSPCL has advertised 622 vacancies for Junior Engineer/Electrical. Out of these, 209 posts are reserved for women within the notified categories.

Category and sub-category must be chosen carefully while applying. PSPCL states that once filled, the category will be treated as final and later change is not allowed.

Eligibility and Educational Qualification

For Junior Engineer/Electrical, the candidate must have completed any one of the following qualifications on or before the last date of online application:

• Full-time regular 3 or 4 year Diploma in Electrical or Electrical and Electronics Engineering from an institute recognized by State or Central Government with at least 60% marks.
• B.E. or B.Tech. or B.Sc. Engineering in Electrical or Electrical and Electronics Engineering with at least 50% marks.
• AMIE in Electrical or Electrical and Electronics Engineering with at least 50% marks from Institution of Engineers (India), Calcutta.

Punjabi is also compulsory. The candidate must have passed Punjabi of at least Matriculation level or equivalent by the last date of application.

Candidates whose final result has been declared but certificate issuance is pending can rely on the result declaration date as proof of completion, provided documentary evidence is available at document checking.

Age Limit and Reservation Rules

The age limit is 18 to 37 years as on 01 January 2026. Upper age relaxation applies as per Punjab Government and PSPCL rules.

• SC and Backward Class: 5 years relaxation.
• Persons with disability: 10 years relaxation above the normal upper age limit.
• Specified categories of women such as widow, legally separated, divorced, maintenance cases, deserted women, women whose husbands have remarried, and wives of serving military personnel: upper age up to 40 years.
• Serving employees of PSPCL, PSTCL or Punjab Government: relaxation to the extent of service rendered as applicable.
• Ex-servicemen of Punjab domicile: age benefit as per the notified rule.

Reserved category benefits, including women reservation, are applicable for Punjab domicile candidates only. Candidates claiming reservation must produce valid documentary proof during document checking.

PWD reservation is available only to eligible benchmark disability candidates as per the notified categories for this post.

Application Fee

The fee is non-refundable and can be paid only through the online mode. If the fee is not successfully deposited, the application stands rejected automatically.

Selection Process and Exam Pattern

The recruitment process consists of an online computer-based test followed by document checking for candidates who qualify in merit.

The online test has 100 objective-type multiple-choice questions for a total duration of 2 hours.

Each correct answer carries 1 mark. There is negative marking of 0.25 mark for every wrong answer.

Minimum qualifying marks in the online test are 45% for General category candidates and 35% for reserved category candidates. If the exam is conducted in multiple shifts, normalization of marks will be applied before preparation of final merit.

Merit is prepared on the basis of marks in the online exam after normalization, if applicable. In case of a tie, the older candidate is placed higher in merit.

How to Apply Online for PSPCL JE Recruitment 2026

1. Visit the PSPCL recruitment page and open the link for Junior Engineer/Electrical against CRA-316/26.
2. Select the CRA and choose New Registration if applying for the first time.
3. Enter basic details such as name, date of birth, father's name, mobile number and email ID.
4. Verify OTP sent to the registered mobile number and email ID.
5. Fill the complete application form, upload photograph and signature, preview the form and submit it.
6. After submission, proceed to online fee payment through the SBI payment gateway using internet banking, debit card or credit card.
7. Login again after payment, check that fee status is updated, and print the final application form for future use.

PSPCL does not accept offline or paper applications. Candidates are also advised not to create multiple applications for the same post because only the latest application number is considered.

Admit Card, Answer Key and Result Flow

PSPCL will publish exam-related updates on its official website. The online test is tentatively scheduled to be held at centres in Punjab or Chandigarh. The exact date, time and venue will be notified through the website and registered email.

• Admit cards without final test centre details are expected to be uploaded around 1 to 2 weeks before the exam.
• Final admit cards with test centre details are to be made available at least 3 days before the exam.
• After the test, PSPCL will display the question paper-cum-answer key on its website.
• Candidates can raise objections as per the official notice issued after the exam.
• Final merit is prepared after review of objections and application of normalization, wherever applicable.

Candidates should keep checking their registered email and the PSPCL website regularly because document checking calls and further notices will be issued there.

Documents to Keep Ready, Salary and Final Instructions

Before applying, candidates should keep the following ready:

• Educational qualification certificates and mark sheets.
• Punjabi language qualification proof at Matric level or equivalent.
• Category, sub-category, domicile and reservation certificates, wherever applicable.
• EWS Income and Asset Certificate, if applicable.
• Scanned recent passport-size photograph and signature in the prescribed format.
• Valid personal mobile number and email ID.
• Aadhaar card and one additional original photo ID for exam day.

The minimum basic pay mentioned in the advertisement is Rs. 35,400 per month as per the applicable pay matrix. However, during the probation period or extended probation period, the selected candidate will receive only the minimum admissible pay as applicable under the Punjab Government instructions. The probation period is 3 years or as revised by the Government of Punjab.

At document checking, candidates must produce original certificates and submit one self-attested photocopy set. No hard copy of the application form needs to be sent separately to PSPCL. Government or PSU employees who are selected will need the required No Objection Certificate from their employer at the relevant stage.
