SSB Paramedical Recruitment 2026 is a central government recruitment drive for medical support posts in Sashastra Seema Bal under the Ministry of Home Affairs. The vacancies are spread across three roles: Head Constable (Laboratory Assistant), Head Constable (Physiotherapy Assistant), and Constable (Nursing Assistant cum Medic). These are Group C, non-gazetted, combatised and non-ministerial posts.

For most applicants, the main confusion is not the total vacancy count but the post-wise difference in qualification, pay level, PET standards, and written exam structure. This recruitment is not a single common eligibility form where every post has the same requirement. The two Head Constable posts need 12th pass plus a one-year relevant certificate course and one year of experience, while the Constable nursing role is based on 10th pass, First Aid certification, and hospital experience.

Another important practical point is that the recruitment portal currently shows 4 May 2026 as the closing date, which is the date candidates should follow for the live application cycle. This page organizes the notification into a usable format so you can quickly check the vacancy breakup, age limit, fee, selection stages, physical standards, and the exact profile that matches your qualification.

Written exam pattern

The written examination is not identical for all three posts.

It includes 150 multiple choice questions from General Knowledge, Mathematics, Reasoning, General English or General Hindi, and Technical Subject. The general section carries 50 marks and the technical section carries 100 marks.

For Constable (Nursing Assistant cum Medic), the written examination is a common entrance test of 2 hours duration carrying 100 marks with 100 multiple choice questions from General Knowledge, Mathematics, Reasoning, and General English or General Hindi.

If the tie continues, the older candidate is ranked higher. If the tie still remains, the candidate whose name comes first in English alphabetical order is placed higher.
