CGDA Young Professionals Recruitment 2026 Overview

The Controller General of Defence Accounts has invited applications for engagement of 12 Young Professionals on contract basis. The recruitment is meant for specialized roles and the official notices divide the vacancies across MBA, Law, data analytics, and CA or audit-related professional qualification categories.

The original detailed advertisement was issued on 16 February 2026. A later official notice dated 17 April 2026 extended the submission deadline to 08 May 2026 and clarified that the other terms and conditions of the original advertisement remain unchanged.

Applicants should treat this as a contract engagement and not as a regular appointment under the Government of India. The role is linked to CGDA requirements and the contract may continue beyond one year only if performance and organizational need support an extension.

Eligibility and Required Qualifications

CGDA has not notified a single broad educational condition for all applicants. Instead, the qualification requirement is tied to the vacancy category. The official notice lists the following qualification routes for engagement:

• MBA
• LLB
• M.Tech or PhD with focus on data analytics
• CA, CIA, or CISA certification

This means a general graduate who does not fall in one of the listed categories should not assume eligibility. The recruitment is clearly designed for domain-specific professional profiles.

The official notice also requires minimum work experience, so meeting the educational requirement alone is not enough.

Age Limit, Experience, and Desired Skills

The detailed notification fixes the age limit at not more than 32 years at the time of application, and the original advertisement uses 08.03.2026 as the reference date. Since the extension notice says the other terms remain unchanged, applicants should follow that original age reference unless CGDA issues a further clarification.

Minimum 02 years of work experience is required at the time of application.

Selection Process and Marks Distribution

The selection process has two stages:

For Stage 1, the notice gives the following screening marks:

• Experience: 2 to 3 years = 10 marks, 4 to 6 years = 15 marks, above 7 years = 20 marks
• Qualifications: Graduation = 10 marks, Post Graduation = 15 marks, PhD = 20 marks

For the interview stage, up to 10 candidates may be called against each YP vacancy. The interview will be conducted by a panel of three persons, each awarding up to 20 marks, and the candidate's interview marks will be the total of all three panelists' scores.

The date and time of interview will be communicated only to shortlisted candidates.

Salary, Tenure, Leave, and Benefits

The fixed monthly remuneration is Rs. 80,000, all inclusive.

The engagement is initially for one year and may be extended up to a maximum of two years based on performance and organizational requirements.

The official terms also state:

• TA/DA is admissible equivalent to AAO of the department for bonafide duty, but not for attending interview or for non-bonafide duty
• No accommodation or facilities such as travel support, phone, or medical insurance will be provided
• IT/TDS will be deducted as applicable under Income Tax Rules
• 8 days of leave per calendar year are allowed, excluding gazetted holidays
• Unused leave will not be carried forward
• Working hours will follow regular office timings, and no extra remuneration is payable for work beyond office hours or on holidays

• A self-undertaking stating that no criminal record or criminal case is pending against the applicant

The notice also asks candidates to send supporting documents for proof of date of birth, educational qualifications, and experience.

Contract Conditions and Other Things to Note

Selected candidates will undergo police verification. The engagement does not create any right to regular appointment or future government employment.

• The YP may terminate the contract by giving one month's notice
• CGDA reserves the right to terminate the contract at any time without prior notice or assigning reason
• Unauthorized absence of 08 consecutive days may lead to termination
• Signing a confidentiality and non-disclosure agreement will be mandatory
• The selected YPs will be subject to the laws of secrecy of the country

These conditions matter because this recruitment is for short-term professional engagement and not for a standard permanent post with regular service protections.
